Welcome to the libjoystick website.  Libjoystick is a simple library with a simple API that allows a Linux/Unix system to read axes and buttons on a joystick or gamepad by simple commands.  It has been tested on 32 bit and 64 bit systems and it includes the precompiled libraries for 32 bit and 64 bit, along with the source code if you need to compile it yourself.  There are 3 languages supported: C, C++, and Java.  Java is made possible through JNI (Java Native Interface).  The best thing about the library is that there is no limit on the button or axis count.  If they are present on the joystick, you can access them.
